What People Say About Sheila-M

Ray Carter – Events and training coordinator, B.N.I. Business networking group, Nuneaton.

“Being an event and training coordinator for a world wide networking group, I was asked to organise a 10 year milestone celebration for the group I attend. I was given Sheila’s contact details by a friend. Right from my initial contact Sheila was friendly and approachable. Flexible in what I wanted in terms of type of entertainment to suit the group and people attending the event.

The night itself was an incredible, fun filled, action packed performance given by Sheila. Right from the off it was a well thought out journey of comedic talent. Sheila involved her audience and audience participation to the full without embarrassing the persons/people involved. Sheila done her homework by finding out the people/characters and personalities that we’re going to be in the room on the night.

Sheila’s act covered almost all topics and had her audience completely captivated throughout her dynamic performance. Sheila could have carried on for another couple of hours and still her audience would have wanted more. Sheila certainly had the material to do so. The feedback I got from EVERYONE at the end of the night was incredible. They were all TOTALLY blown away.

I actually can’t wait to be asked to organise another event by whomever for whatever occasion as I will have absolutely no hesitation in booking Sheila. She is an extremely talented quick witted person, timed to perfection. She gives her all for your event. I can’t say enough to promote and recommend Sheila to fill your event with fun, hilarity, excitement and laughter.”

Ant Hill – Comedy Agent – The Palace Theatre, Redditch

‘Sheila is only act I’ve ever booked as an opener, closer and compere. She has great versatility and a wide range of ever growing material. Her Irish charm and stage persona means that she can engage with an audience and get laughs without the need for jokes or pre-rehearsed material. Away from improvisation Sheila also performs a character act having recently performed for me as Sister Mary in full nun’s habit dispensing holy water from a pint glass. When out of character Sheila is a musical act able to get the audience literally singing and dancing in the aisles. NO JOKE: I had text from one of my fans today saying “Ant I’m thirty next year. I would really like a stand-up comic at my birthday party. Sheila thinks she’ll be busy so I wanted to ask if you’d be free”.’

Ant Hill – Comedy Agent – The Palace Theatre, Redditch

“Sheila-M headlined what the Theatre Management labelled ‘our best show ever’. With both musical and comedy talent she combines the two into a irresistible fusion of feminine Irish charm. Every heckler’s nightmare Sheila-M held the audiences’ attention in a grip of wonder and fear like a frightened teenage boy on their first date. If you need an audience warmed up or want your show to end on a musical high – Shelia’s your man.”

Henrik Court – Director of Events, Birmingham Chamber Of Commerce

“Sheila-M was one of our guest entertainers at the Birmingham Chamber of Commerce Group’s Annual Summer Networking Garden Party which took place at in the beautiful surrounds of New Hall Hotel and Spa in Sutton Coldfield, West Midlands. It was a pleasure to work with Sheila who was very professional in her approach and dealings from beginning to end – pre-event, at the event and post-event. Sheila gave a comedy performance and sang a popular Irish song accompanied with her guitar. Sheila’s performance was received by all delegates in attendance. She stayed after her performance to do some networking of her own and was very accommodating with photograph requests etc.”

Geri Minelli – Creative Co-ordinator, Uniting The Nations Festival, St. Pauls Church, Birmingham

“Where does she find her wit? What a woman! Hats off to the female jokers of the world. Sheila-M shocks you in every way, who would guess that this fine looking lady would have you in stitches? From the minute you hear her tone, you know you clear-the-way. Fasten your seatbelts and let the games begin. Sheila was ideal for our latest ‘Uniting The Nations Festival.’ Conscious of the surroundings, she will choose her material to accommodate your audience. No matter who you are entertaining, Sheila-M will warm the cockles of your crowd. I love having Sheila-M on board, she is supportive and considerate, very funny and don’t let those looks fool you; butter would melt and caramelise, trust me! I can’t wait to invite her to be the warm up act for some of my personal shows. She will go down a treat!”

By Collin Harris – LouDeemy Variety Night Review

“Sheila M (AKA Sister Mary): I’d seen her the month before and this was a completely different set. However it was just as funny – Sister Mary has her own show on Friday at the Pat Kav – looks like it’ll be a cracker. Tonight it started off with Sister Mary’s adult education class. A man was dragged out of the audience whilst we were treated to the proper names and uses of and for women’s breasts, the correct way to leave the toilet seat, and why we were all miserable sinners. Then we were treated to Sister Mary’s version of the song “Sisters are doing it to themselves” – If the Pope ever sees this he might need to rethink the whole celibacy argument. Very funny and the audience really enjoyed it. Another belter from Sister Mary.”

By Collin Harris – LouDeemy Variety Night Review

“Sheila M: The stripping nun. Irish, Catholic, and funny as feck. She rocked the room with her “Got to have faith” parody. The vegans at the back were filming her and cheering along. She then did some great observational stuff abut the room and life and men and religion – she also did some brand new bits – again it was a taped performance so she knows what worked and what didn’t. She also turned me into an honourary priest by adapting my black T shirt/suit ensemble with a bit of white card to act as a dog-collar – I might keep the look and work on a vicar character…. She finished off a belting set with her lady gaga parody which again was excellently executed and got great laughs – she’s a really great performer. Fantastic. And really nice as well.”

By Hazel A Speed, Executive Producer

“Having had the privilege of attending an event which culminated in the guest appearance of Sheila McMahon, I have no hesitation, whatsoever, in saying that I felt I was watching ‘a Star in Waiting’ as Sheila has what it takes to produce her own TV show. In my role as an Executive Producer of an animation project, (and many of my team are either celebrities and/or high profile in their chosen fields of expertise), I recognise quality in people as soon as I see it, and saw immediately that Sheila is a natural talent, extremely gifted both in music and comedy. She is also a very nice person. If I was a Record Producer or a TV Commissioning Editor, I would sign Sheila up straight away. It is going to happen, as Sheila is a natural successor to Catherine Tate and also a singer prime for launching a hit record and album.”

“Multi-talented, Irish comedienne Sheila Mc Mahon made a stunning appearance at Juice Comedy’s Joxer Bradys venue on May 3rd 2010 and was easily the best act of the night. Sheila’s raucous act makes her one of the funniest shows on the comedy circuit.”

“Sheila-M has been a great supporter of The British Society of Comedy Writers for several years. For the past five years Sheila has been an honorary member of the society and attended and performed at many of our high profile events. Sheila has the audience in the palm of her hand from the moment she steps onto the stage and leaves them rolling in the isles begging for more. Whether she is compering, singing or performing her hilarious stand-up act, Sheila-M always gives a 100% performance. Her Irish charm, versatility and originality marks her out as one of the brightest stars currently on the comedy circuit.”
